Premier Pro: Sound Adjustments | Our Youth
Shown above is the layout of the clips in the media bin we best chose to lay them out in order of media type because it was easiest to access what we wanted to as quickly as possible. The clips were colour coded in this way to make it easiest to choose the clips we wanted to use and import.
The clips above have been edited to adjust the sound accordingly to dim in and out when we need them to, this was mainly done to help mesh clips together and create more of a smooth transition between two clips.
This image is a project overview, moreover a more detailed view of the project and all the elements that make it up. We decided to screenshot this project overview because it is important to see element carefully and to proof read the project.

Pitch Notes | Simon and John
My View
Mid September we came into class knowing that we were going to be met by two film makers that were associated with the Strawberry Fair short film competition. After arriving we quickly learnt that they were film reviewers as appose to film makers which led to confusion and that one of the gentlemen had co produced a film and nothing more. Moreover the day went rather quickly although Simon listened and carefully deliberated his response I found myself disregarded by John and my idea was quickly shunned as John thought that the basis of a documentary is entertainment and making someone laugh as appose to fulfilling facts and telling the viewer information.
I found the day to be interesting and although some good feedback and improvement ideas were pitched by Simon, John was more critical and found more fault in both of our projects.
The Facts
As a pair me and my project partner Sophie went round to these two men including our teacher Tom for feedback throughout the double periods we had. We were given a broad range of feedback.
Points to Improve
We were told to make the project more consistant and to improve certain parts that were mentioned so that it made more sense and is laid out in a more narrative oriented structure.
Although positive constructive feedback was received we also received waves of negativity across the board especially John who went out of his way to personally attack one of our ideas shooting it down because it was not entertaining enough and featured more facts rather then bits that make people laugh.

Narrative Structure
Difference Between Storyline and Narrative
A storyline is what the book or piece of media is about basically the synopsis or the blurb found on the back of the book or on the piece of media. And a narrative is what happens in relation to the actual plot of the story.
3 Act Narrative Structure
The 3-act structure is an old principle adhered to in storytelling today. It can be found in plays, poetry, novels, comic books, short stories, video games, and the movies. It was present in the novels of Conan Doyle, the plays of Shakespeare, the fables of Aesop, the poetry of Aristotle, and the films of Hitchcock. It’s older than Greek dramaturgy. Hollywood and Broadway use it well. It’s irrefutable and bullet-proof, so to speak.
1. Equilibruim - The beginning, everything was balanced.
2. Desequlibrium - Things start to happen.
3. New Equilibrium - Things start to work out, there is a new balance as the 'new equilibrium' has been reached.
5 Act Classic Hollywood Structure
5 act Classic Hollywood Structure is made up of 5 steps, Exposition, Development, Complication, Climax and Resolution and these are all used to make up a storyline.
1. Exposition - The key characters and the location
2. Development - We get to learn more about the characters
3. Complications - Something happens
4. Climax - Problem gets solved
5. Resolution - Happy Ending
Linear and Non Linear Narrative
Linear is a normal storyline, it has a beginning, middle and end. It uses the equilibrium, desequlibrium and new equilibrium or exposition, development, complication, climax and resolution.
Non linear is different in the way the story is shown. It doesn't follow the set structure pattern that a linear does. It will show the different steps of the acts and swaps them round along with having several story lines at once so that it will make it more interesting for the audience if the film is slightly boring on its own.

Louis Theroux: The Most Hated Family In America (2007, Geoffrey O'Connor)
The documentary is about an extremist church in America that preaches the message that homosexuality is wrong and is against the bible and god. Moreover they target innocent targets such as soldiers that fought for America in the war and picket their funerals.
The documentary is interesting as throughout you are introduced to a multitude of characters that are all different and the main character that leeds Louis around makes the storyline complete.
Louis Theroux stars as main feature character in the film and is very directly involved with many aspects of the family through going to their pickets and experiencing day to day life with the family.
The main characters from the other side of the camera include Fred Phelps as the leader of the church although we don't see much of him he is a main character. Shirley Phelps directly leads Louis around the church and homestead and is the main consulter and come to person to answer questions.
There is diegetic and non diegetic sound throughout that makes the documentary interesting and gives some meaning and understanding behind it.
The sound in the documentary is optimised and used well to at times create the atmosphere that the viewer wants to see.
Louis' interviewing style is very direct and this comes across in the film although over the place at times his questioning is direct and to the point and he gets the most information he can out of Shirley and her church members moreover he can outsmart the church members to get a greater response.
